LAS VEGAS – The Injured Police Officer’s Fund (IPOF) hosts the seventh annual Classic Car Show and Motorcycle Ride on Saturday, September 8.

Beginning at 7 a.m., a motorcycle ride will kick off at the Bass Pro Shops located at 8200 Dean Martin Dr., traveling throughout the city and ending at the unique annual car show at 12 p.m. Classic, vintage and custom vehicles including hot rods, muscle cars and police cruisers will be on display while attendees enjoy a day of family fun and show support for the local law enforcement.

“Every year we are amazed with the immeasurable degree of support from the Las Vegas community at the Classic Car Show and Motorcycle Ride,” said Las Vegas Metro Police Sergeant Richard Strader. “This year’s event will shed light on the importance of the IPOF’s mission and efforts while observing the anniversary of true heroism of our country demonstrated during the 9/11 attacks.”

Benefiting the police officers and their families throughout Nevada who were injured or killed in the line of duty, the car show will feature delectable fare and a raffle with esteemed prizes including four high-definition TVs. In addition, the top 60 vehicles will be awarded prizes including dignitary, club participation, best of show, people’s choice and the highly esteemed Sheriff’s pick.

Participating police agencies include Las Vegas Metro Police Department, Nevada Highway Patrol, Boulder City Police Department, Clark County Park Police, Henderson Police Department, among others. Registration is open for all classic vehicles and motorcycles, and is available online at

About Injured Police Officer’s Fund (IPOF)

Formed in October 1982, the IPOF began its mission to help reduce the financial burden suffered by Police Officers and their families in the event of a line of duty injury or death by providing monetary assistance to these Officers and their families.  In 1982, the IPOF represented the Officers of LVMPD, Henderson, North Las Vegas, Boulder City and the Southern Region of Nevada Highway Patrol. In 1992, the IPOF added the City of Mesquite Police to the organization.  In 1995, under the leadership of Sheriff Jerry Keller, the IPOF added the Officers of the City of Las Vegas Detention and Enforcement, University of Nevada Las Vegas Police, Clark County Park Police and Clark County School District Police.
